Verizon’s LG Voyager smartphone with GPS

Verizon have recently announced the LG VX10000 (otherwise known as the easier-to-remember LG Voyager), which is being touted by the company as an iPhone killer, largely because it's a touchscreen phone with 3G.
Of more interest to GPS-lovers, though, is the fact the Voyager will also come with a built-in GPS receiver, providing full Sat-Nav abilities that knocks the iPhone's use of Google Maps straight out of the ring.
The LG Voyager isn't the first smartphone to come with GPS, but it continues an ominous trend for the encumbent GPS manufacturers, as more and more mobile phones elbow their way into the GPS marketplace.
No news yet on how good the GPS feature of the Voyager will be - having GPS is one thing, making it usable is another. However, it will, apparently, work with Verizon's existing VZ Navigator service, which gives you 14 million points of interest in the US, as well as giving you directions to wherever you want to go.
The Navigator service has been around for a while, so the LG Voyager should be quite a capable Sat-Nav device, as it's not relying on a hastily-constructed navigational service. We'll know soon enough, as the Voyager will be released in November in the US.

Verizon Wireless has a known history of crippling GPS devices on their phones. This phone is a very neat item. I hope that VZW doesn't cripple the functionality for other programs.
What OS is this thing using, btw?
