Acer announces Ferrari Racing GPS device

Acer have announced the Acer Ferrari Racing GPS Device, a handheld GPS device that also doubles as a PDA as well as a wannabe smartphone. As well as a SiRF Star III GPS receiver and ALK CoPilot navigation software, the new Acer Ferarri GPS unit also comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a 2.8″ touchscreen and even a Windows Mobile Office suite, enabling you to use it as a true PDA.
More details after the jump.

The Ferrari branding is a consistent theme amongst Acer products, largely because the company sponsors Ferrari. It’s not just branding, though – with the Ferrari Racing GPS device, you also get safety camera warnings (should you not be driving your Ferrari as, er, safely as you could be!) as well as special Ferrari points of interests (with the current whereabouts of Nigel Stepney presumably being Ferrari’s most important point of interest at the moment).
The Wi-Fi connection will even let make calls over Skype, making this GPS device just one small step away from a mobile phone. Ah, convergence, don’t you just love it!
