Samsung enters the GPS phone market

Nokia aren't the only mobile phone company muscling in on the GPS market. Samsung are also barging their way in with the announcement of the new Samsung i550 GPS phone. The i550 is Samsung's first GPS phone, and shows the South Korean company going shoulder to shoulder with Nokia into this brand new territory for mobile devices.
More details of the Samsung i550 GPS phone after the jump.

Based on Symbian Series 60, the i550 features voice activated turn-by-turn navigation, making it ideal as a car Sat-Nav, as well as a pedestrian mode that offers points of interest and directions, with route estimates provided at walking speed.
No idea how good the i550 is as a Sat-Nav, but it certainly sounds good as a mobile phone. It comes with HSDPA for download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps, 3.2 megapixel camera, 2.6" screen, FM radio and 128MB of RAM.
